Panattoni Development’s Nashville office is now underway with construction of its five-story mixed-use building at Music Row.

Turner Construction’s Nashville office serves as the general contractor for the project, with 1030 Music Row (the building’s nickname) having an address of 1030 16th avenue S. Completion in January 2022 is expected, according to a statement.

It is worth noting that the building (pictured) will be constructed largely of wood, which would rank it among the most unusual structures in the city if it stood today. The updated images indicate that the design has been changed, with the previous iteration being considered for six floors. As expected now, the future building will show more exterior glass than expected.

Designed by Nashville-based Tuck-Hinton Architecture and Design, the building will provide approximately 112,000 square feet of office and retail space on the ground floor. EMC, Power Management Corp., Barge Cauthen & Associates and Hawkins Partners are also participating.

The timber frame design of the building includes glued laminated timber (glulam) columns and beams and glued laminated timber (DLT) floors, all made from spruce. Because wood panels require less energy to create than concrete or steel, they will provide 1,370 metric tons of carbon benefit, which is equivalent to taking 262 cars off the road for a year, the release notes. .

Turner has incorporated the use of solid wood floors with the Three Thirty Three building which will soon open at The Gulch.

“It’s always exciting to bring a truly unique building to Nashville, and 1030 Music Row will be unlike anything we’ve built here before,” said Rob Binford, senior project manager at Turner, in the statement. “As Music Row continues to evolve, we believe this beautifully designed structure will blend perfectly with the creativity this area is known for. “

Panattoni paid around $ 9 million for what had been multiple properties as of mid-December 2019.

“Music Row has a famous past, and we believe an equally important future awaits us,” Whitfield Hamilton, Panattoni’s regional partner for the Southeast and Mid Atlantic, said in the statement. “This building will be crucial in modernizing this famous part of Nashville, making it a hub of business and the art of music for decades to come.”

Wilson County industrial property sells for $ 30.9 million

JLL Capital Markets has announced the closing of the $ 30.9 million sale of 245 Couchville Industrial, a fully leased 709,652 square foot Class A warehouse and distribution facility in Wilson County.

Nashville-based developer Jeff Gaw is targeting a late fall for his West Nashville residential project, The Row on Leslie.
