May 01 (THEWILL) – The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) and the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has said that Governor Dapo Abiodun deserves to be elected for a second term.
Fayemi, who said this in Abeokuta, the state capital, during a visit to the governor, said that as chairman of the NGF, people should not be surprised that he is encouraging Abiodun to come to lead. the state for the second time.
He said that for President Muhammadu Buhari to come to the state to inaugurate laudable projects, he was sure that the people of the state would support him for his second term.
The Governor of Ekiti State, who praised his counterpart in Ogun State for the campaign of local and foreign investments for the state, said that the recent investment of hundreds of millions of dollars in the Olokola free trade zone and the agricultural cargo airport would not have been possible without the confidence of investors in the leadership of the State.
“He (Abiodun) has demonstrated his ability, he has increased investment, naturally it is a state that attracts more investment than the rest of us, those of us in the hinterland, because it is close to Lagos. But, on top of that, it has bared its business acumen, deep knowledge of the investment terrain to attract much more investment,” Fayemi noted.
