On the basis of Presidential Resolution No. 4799 “On organizational measures for the construction of a new thermal power station with a capacity of 1500 MW in the Sirdarya region” of August 10, 2020, it was planned to build a thermal power plant on a turnkey basis in the district of Boevut and in the town of Shirin of the region of Sirdarya.
The Chinese company, China Gezhouba Group Corporation, has been identified as the general contractor for the project. It should be noted that it is planned to use combined cycle power plants with an efficiency of more than 60% in the construction of the plant.
In addition, within the framework of the aforementioned resolution, an investment agreement is envisaged between the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, a Saudi investor “The International Company for water and power projects” and a project company represented by âAcwa Power Sirdary?â LLC. In addition, in this resolution, it was approved an agreement between “National Electric Grids of Uzbekistan” JSC and “Acwa Power Sirdary?” LLC on the purchase of electricity.
